Auckland Lights Up the Sky: Welcoming 2025 with Spectacular Fireworks and Light Show

As the clock struck midnight on December 31, 2024, Auckland became the first major city to welcome 2025 with a breathtaking display of fireworks and a vibrant light show. Greece Implements Six-Day Work Week, Pioneering EU Labor Reforms

Greece recently implemented a six-day work week, making it the first European Union country to do so.

Under this new law, private businesses offering round-the-clock services can provide staff with the option to work an additional two hours each day or an additional eight-hour shift, with a 40% increase in daily wages. However, this initiative does not apply to workers in the food service and tourism industries.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has described the new work week as “worker-friendly,” aiming to ensure proper compensation for overtime while addressing undeclared work. It’s worth noting that Greek workers were already putting in an average of 41 hours per week, the highest in Europe.
