Europe Rejects U.S. Peace Framework Demanding Ukrainian Concessions

Ukraine suffered one of the worst Russian attacks in months when drones and missiles hit Ternopil.  European leaders have firmly rejected a U.S.-backed peace proposal that would require Ukraine to surrender territory and scale back its military capabilities. The plan, reportedly drafted by Washington and discussed with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has been described by European officials as tantamount to forcing Kyiv into capitulation. According to reports, the framework envisions Ukraine giving up land to Russia and partially disarming its armed forces. This approach has sparked alarm across Europe, where officials insist that any peace plan must respect Ukraine’s sovereignty and involve both Kyiv and European partners in negotiations. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas emphasized that “for any plan to work, it needs Ukrainians and Europeans on board,” underscoring the bloc’s position that decisions about Ukraine’s future cannot be made without its direct involvement. Israel Prepares for All Scenarios Amid Ceasefire Efforts

Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant emphasized today that while Israel is not seeking to escalate the ongoing conflict, it is preparing for all possible scenarios. This statement comes as U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken continues to push for a ceasefire.

During a visit to air defense officers, Gallant praised the forces involved in a recent operation in Beirut, which targeted a Hezbollah commander responsible for a rocket attack that killed 12 children and teenagers in the Golan Heights. “The performance last night in Beirut was focused, high quality, and contained,” Gallant stated. He reiterated that Israel’s primary goal is to avoid further conflict but stressed the importance of being prepared for any developments.

Blinken, on his part, has been advocating for a ceasefire, hoping it will lead to a reduction in tensions not only in Gaza but also in Lebanon. The international community watches closely as both sides navigate this delicate situation, with hopes for a peaceful resolution remaining high.
