Trump Proposes Closing Department of Education via Executive Action

In a bold move, U.S. President Donald Trump has announced his intention to dismantle the Department of Education through executive action. India Exposes Alleged Student Trafficking Network via Canadian Colleges

India has accused several Canadian colleges of being part of a widespread human trafficking network that illegally transports international students to the United States. The Enforcement Directorate of India revealed that their investigation uncovered evidence of incriminating activities involving two entities in Mumbai.

The probe was initiated following the tragic death of the Patel family near the Canada-U.S. border in January 2022. The investigation has since expanded, revealing that around 25,000 students were referred by one entity and over 10,000 by another to various colleges outside India annually.

Authorities claim that students, instead of attending Canadian colleges, were smuggled across the border and their admission fees were refunded. The network allegedly involves 1,700 agents in Gujarat and around 3,500 across India.

The case has drawn attention to the need for stricter regulations and oversight in international student admissions and visa processes.
